Sometimes I like to think back on my childhood and the fond memories that I have stored up in the old noggin. There are many reasons why I had a great childhood and experience growing up, and the biggest reason definitely has to do with my parents.
You see my parents were never the type to put a damper on my dreams. If I loved something, they let me go after it or be a part of it until my hear was content. That can make for a very happy kid.
One thing that brought me a ton of joy as a child was NASCAR. I loved cars and racing. Every Sunday when the race was on, I would grab my Dale Earnhardt fan paraphernalia and pop a squat right in front of that big wooden encased TV and not get up but on commercial breaks. I was hooked.
Danica Patrick and Daytona 2012
This weekend the 2012 NASCAR racing season will begin with the Daytona 500 in Florida. There are a couple of stories making headlines revolving around the opening race of the season. One of the top stories is, of course, Tony Stewart.
During last year’s chase for the cup, Tony Stewart won five out of ten of the last NASCAR events. He also successfully helped in ending Jimmie Johnson’s five year NASCAR domination with his incredible year in 2011. People are curious to see what Tony Stewart will do at the Daytona International Speedway on Sunday. The story that might be getting even more publicity though has to be that of Danica Patrick.

With Something to Prove
After the 2011 NASCAR racing season came to a close there was a ton of activity that led to quite a bit of changes to drivers, crew chiefs, and more in the garage. These changes have cause some stirring and are making the 2012 season somewhat of an unknown territory. There are many drivers out there who have to step up to the plate, so to speak, and really prove themselves in the upcoming season. Since 2011 is ending, we figure we would give you a heads up of the top drivers with something to prove to the fans and NASCAR overall.

What goes with NASCAR better than country music? Okay, maybe a beer or a plate of hot cheesy nachos might go better, but country music is pretty high up there too. Last Friday night the country singing sweetheart from Oklahoma, Reba McIntire hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort & Casino on the SPEED channel.
NASCAR Returns to Rockingham
The sounds of NASCAR radiating loudly from the insides of The Rock racetrack in Rockingham, North Carolina have been missed since 2004 when the 1 mile long track was closed after 40 years of hosting NASCAR events. North Carolina NASCAR fans can finally stop weeping over the quiet that is now Rockingham Speedway because the noise is coming back. That’s right, in 2012 NASCAR is coming back to Rockingham. On April 15, 2012 the Camping World Truck Series is going to race at this historic speedway.
